About this calculator
This calculator estimates calories using: calories = MET × 3.5 × body weight in kg ÷ 200 × minutes. It matters when you want a quick screening number before deciding whether a habit, plan or measurement deserves a closer look. Here is the calculation on real numbers: Running (MET 9.8) for 30 minutes at 70 kg burns MET × 3.5 × kg ÷ 200 × minutes = 9.8 × 3.5 × 70 ÷ 200 × 30 ≈ 360 kcal . For your own figures, use the calculator above — same method, your inputs, computed on-device.

FAQ
How are calories burned estimated?
We use the MET formula: calories ≈ MET × 3.5 × weight(kg) ÷ 200 × minutes. Higher-intensity activities have larger MET values and burn more per minute.
What is a MET?
A MET, or metabolic equivalent, expresses an activity’s intensity relative to sitting quietly. Walking is about 3.5 MET, while running can be around 9.8 MET.
Why does weight affect the result?
Heavier bodies use more energy to perform the same movement, so calories burned scale with body weight in the MET formula.
Does the Calories Burned Calculator send my data to a server?
No. The Calories Burned Calculator runs entirely in your browser — your inputs never leave your device, and nothing is uploaded or stored.
Worked example
Running (MET 9.8) for 30 minutes at 70 kg burns MET × 3.5 × kg ÷ 200 × minutes = 9.8 × 3.5 × 70 ÷ 200 × 30 ≈ 360 kcal. This is an estimate only.
