Trip Cost Calculator

Trip Cost — it works out fuel cost as distance ÷ fuel economy × fuel price, adds tolls and parking for the total, and divides by passengers for a per-person share when entered. This page runs that same calculation on your numbers, in your browser: no signup, no uploads, nothing stored.

Trip Cost Calculator helps you work out the cost of a trip. Enter your units, distance, fuel efficiency and fuel price and it returns the total trip cost instantly, right in your browser with nothing uploaded.

Enter your input and tap Calculate.

Estimate only. Real costs vary with fuel use, traffic, terrain, driving style, weather, route, and the toll and parking figures you provide. Everything runs locally in your browser and nothing you enter is uploaded.

About this tool

It works out fuel cost as distance ÷ fuel economy × fuel price, adds tolls and parking for the total, and divides by passengers for a per-person share when entered. That is the whole of the calculation — the mistakes happen in the inputs. It matters for trips, vehicles and daily decisions where a quick reliable number beats a rough guess. Worked example: A 600 km trip at 15 km/L with fuel at 100/L uses 40 L = 4,000 in fuel, before tolls and food. Use the calculator with your own figures; it runs entirely on your device.

How to use

  1. Pick metric or US units and enter the distance.
  2. Add your fuel efficiency and fuel price.
  3. Enter any tolls and parking, or leave them blank.
  4. Set the passenger count and press Calculate for the split.

Technical notes

Trip Cost Calculator works out fuel cost as distance ÷ fuel economy × fuel price, adds tolls and parking for the total, and divides by passengers for a per-person share when entered.

Estimates depend on the rates and distances you enter and ignore traffic, terrain and price changes.

Nothing you type is uploaded — the calculation happens entirely on your device.

Worked example

A 600 km trip at 15 km/L with fuel at 100/L uses 40 L = 4,000 in fuel, before tolls and food.

FAQ

How is the trip cost different from fuel cost?

Fuel cost covers fuel only. Trip cost adds tolls and parking and can split the total between passengers for a fuller picture.

What happens if I leave tolls or parking blank?

Blank tolls and parking are treated as zero, so the trip cost is just the fuel cost plus whatever extras you do enter.

How does the passenger split work?

The total cost is divided by the number of passengers you enter. Leave it blank or enter one to see the whole cost without splitting.

Are fuel prices and tolls in one currency?

Yes. Enter every money value in the same currency; the result is shown in that currency with no conversion.
